“I played for the fans, and I wanted to make sure each fan that came out would see something different I did each day.”
— Willie Mays Say Hey
Foundation,
Inc.
Founded in 2000 by legendary Baseball Hall of Famer Willie Mays, the Say Hey Foundation is dedicated to providing children in underserved areas with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Working first in communities that nurtured the Giants great - Birmingham, New York City & San Francisco - and expanding to wherever the need is greatest, the Foundation invests in fields, equipment, coaching, life-skills education, safety and security, partnering with local organizations to provide comprehensive support to help turn Willie’s vision into lasting impact.
In partnership with the San Francisco Giants, the Foundation also advances educational opportunities with academic scholarships for underrepresented youth through the Willie Mays Scholars program, carrying forward the Say Hey Kid’s enduring desire to assure opportunity and equity.
